VILLAGE OF SILVERMINE

Welcome to the Village of Silvermine

One might believe that this village actually had a mine for silver, but that is only legend. Silvermine is an unincorporated village that crosses Norwalk, Wilton, and New Canaan. Known for being an art colony, it remains home to the Silvermine Guild Arts Center. Speckled with charming historic homes and buildings, it makes this village a sought-after enclave to live in. Even though the area was never incorporated, it does pack a punch with a market (Silvermine Market), boutique hotel (GrayBarns Silvermine Tavern), and hospital (Silver Hill Hospital).

Historically the village was known for its mills that dotted the Silvermine River because of its steep grade. They included leather tanning works, sawmills, and spool works.

Easy access to the Merritt Parkway and Route 7. Only 9 minutes to downtown New Canaan and the train station, 13 minutes to South Norwalk (SoNo) the train, downtown restaurants, and the new SoNo Collection.
